We were very happy to join the Careers Fair held in the Wynnstay Hotel and Spa, Oswestry hosted with the support of Landau Employment Services! The event aims to help people throughout Shropshire who are currently struggling to get back into work, or people who are just exploring new career avenues.

Phoenix Homecare and Support Ltd was represented by Branch Manager for North Shropshire, Sarah Smith and Recruitment Manager, Rebecca Bannister. It was so lovely to be able to go back out in the community after 2 years of in and out lockdowns!

We had a great time representing the company and advertising our vacancies to people in the Oswestry area. We were able to chat with lots of people and hand out information and applications to interested candidates. Lots of people still have some misconceptions about what domiciliary care means – so we love to get out and talk to people who think they may have an interest in providing care to those who need it. After all, two of the main skills a carer needs is excellent communication and a love of talking to people!
We were also fortunate enough to do a lot of networking with others in attendance; those of us working in the care sector are aware times are tough and that we need to work together to ensure that people in our community are getting the care and support they require.

Landau will be working with the Shropshire council to further support a recruitment drive throughout the Shropshire area; they are launching Building Shropshire over the coming weeks, and we have signed up to be a part of this recruitment drive. We are looking forward to working with Landau in the future as they host more Job Shops and Events throughout the Shropshire area!

We really hope we can soon be out and about at jobs fairs in Wrexham and Powys areas soon.
