Case Study: Lianne's Story

Lianne started with Phoenix Homecare and Support In 2015 as a carer, Lianne came to Phoenix as a carer and has developed her skills and progressed to be a managing all the co-ordinators from our various branches

Previous to coming to Phoenix I worked as a travel agent for 10 years. I decided I wanted a carer change and always liked the sound of working in care. I have now been with Phoenix for 5 years and still feel it was the best carer decision I have ever made.

Working as a carer is completely different to an office job, you get to meet so many different people and I built great relationships with the other carers and people I provided care for. Not only did I feel I was visiting family or friends I also knew I was making a difference to the person’s life by helping and supporting them to be as independent as possible.

To go home after the end of a day knowing you have made a difference is a great feeling

I worked as a carer for 1 year and applied to become a team leader when the opportunity arrived. After working as a carer/team leader for 2 years I was offered a position to become a co-ordinator to then lead onto my current position as company co-ordinations manager for the company.

Phoenix has great carer progression opportunities and has given me all the support, qualifications and training I have needed to be where I am today.
